Vintage mid century Danish teak wood and veneer metamorphic elevator table, made by VM Mobler in the 1960s probably, or early 70's. The designer is Kai Kristiansen. It's essentially a coffee table but can be lifted up into a dining table, with some elegant wood work underneath. Two side leaves can be slid out from under the top to extend the width, at either height. The top is veneered in teak while the base is all solid teak, rather beautifully shaped. Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid and sound and the mechanism works fine (once you're used to it..). Cosmetically there are a few scuffs and marks on the base though not much. The top was quite badly marked and had to be sanded, re-coloured and oiled: we're quite pleased with the results colour wise, though there's still a few ghost marks left, but only faint. The slide out leaves have become scored where they've been pulled out over the years; they look authentic rather than horrid (I think!). Have a look at the pictures.
